Feel Goods - Day 4

We all seek the Sunshine...  After several rainy days, I love when the sun peeps out.  I tend to go outside and lift my face to the Sunshine....

Today's card uses Rich Razzleberry as the card base, cut at 4.25" x 11", folded at 5.5".  I then ran the base card through the BigShot using the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder.

Then I cut a layer of Whisper White measuring 3 1/8" x 4 3/8".  I stamped the sentiment from the Feel Goods stamp set in matching Rich Razzleberry ink.  The flowers/leaf is from the Bloomin' Marvelous stamp set and Pink Pirouette and Certainly Celery.

A butterfly from the Beautiful Wings Embosslits, popped up and touch of pink ribbon.

The perfect end to a really good week - or that's how I choose to view it!  Hope you've enjoyed this week and Feel Goods...

Thankful Thursday....

It's been a while since I posted a Thankful Thursday.  In my club last week, we did a Mother's Day card.  These are hard to do since my Mom passed away 9 years ago....and I soooo miss her.

But there are years when I still make a card for her....

I was on the fence about getting the Dress Up Framelits but I'm so glad I did.  A sweet, classy card in memory of my Mom!

Start with a Real Red base cut at 4.25" x 11", folded at 5.5".  A layer of Whisper White cut at 4" x 5.25" is run through the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder.

The dress is cut from Polka Dot Parade DSP.  The dress form is cut out of Basic Black and popped up with Dimensionals.  A scrap of white ribbon accents her waist and Basic Rhinestones grace the neckline.

The Sentiment is from Wonderful Mother...with the best sentiment on the inside!  Punch the sentiment with the Extra Large Oval and layered on a punched Scallop Oval.  Pop the sentiment up with Dimensionals...

Perfect card for a wonderful lady.  If your Mom isn't here, then use a birthday greeting instead!  Still a perfect, classy card.

Feel Goods - Day 3

Where would be without our friends?  I have certainly been blessed many times over with the people in my life I call friends!

In fact, I met a new friend last year at Convention 2012.  I so enjoyed this lady...so much in fact that we are rooming again this year!

What makes a friend?  Someone who accepts us as we are, yet helps us to be what we should!

So today's card uses this exact sentiment!

The card is 5.5" x 8.5", folded in half.  Pacific Point is such a bright, lovely blue....can work for masculine cards or for all those lady friends who love blues...  A layer of Whisper White, 3.75" x 5" is followed by a 3.5" x 4.75".  I centered the Labels Collection Framelits and cut out the center.

Before attaching the top Pacific Point, I stamped the swirl in Crumb Cake.  Then I set the top layer and stamped the Friends sentiment in Pacific Point.

I love the detail from the Framelits cut....

Feel Goods - Day 2

Today's card is such an affirming card....if you believe you can, you will!

I started off with my favorite color....Real Red and paired it with Certainly Celery and Crumb Cake with a bit of Melon Mambo thrown in for good measure.

The card is 4.25" x 11" folded at 5.5", resulting in a "tent" card.  I then layered a 4" x 5.25" Whisper White stamped with the swirl from Everything Eleanor in Certainly Celery.

The Sentiment is from the Feel Goods stamp set, hand colored with the Real Red and Crumb Cake markers.  I then used a small, delicate flower stamp from Thanks for Caring (retired) stamp set in Melon Mambo.  I then cut the sentiment out with the Window Frames Framelits and mounted it on the next size larger Window Frame Framelit.  I then used Dimensionals to give it a lift!

Quick, cute and Uplifting - something we all can use!

Feel Goods - Day 1

Well...last week was an eventful week - full of good and bad.  My heart goes out to the families and friends affected by the Boston Marathon Bombings and the Fertilizer Plant Explosion in West, TX.

When things are tough, it's hard to laugh.  Hopefully, this card will bring a smile and lighten your cares...just imagine receiving this in the mail!

The card base is 5.5" x 11" of Gumball Green.  A layer of Whisper White is cut at 5.25" x 4".  On the bottom half, I stamped with Bloomin' Marvelous stamp set.  I absolutely LOVE this stamp set!

After I stamped using Daffodil Delight, Primrose Petals and Gumball Green, I then layered a 1" x 4" piece of Whisper White that has been run through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  Before placing this piece, I layered a piece of Daffodil Delight ribbon underneath.

I then cut a Gumball Green layer measuring 2.25 x 3.25".  On a piece of 2 x 3" Whisper White, I stamped the sentiment from the Feel Goods stamp set in Primrose Petals....so cute!

I stamped another flower and leaf from and hand cut them out.  I also stamped the butterfly from the same set in Marina Mist and used the Bitty Butterfly Punch.  These I popped up with Dimensionals and accented the card with Rhinestones.

It really came together quick and easy!

If you need any of the supplies listed, please let me know or visit my Stampin' Up! website to order!

Many Blessings..... Cathy

Happy Birthday - Day 5

I have enjoyed sharing with you all the birthday cards I've made recently - pray you've enjoyed this as well....

Today's card is for my sister's birthday.  Hopefully she isn't checking my website....

This one didn't scan well...it's absolutely stunning in real life!

The card base is Whisper White cut at 4.25" x 11, scored at 5.5".  Another layer of Whisper White cut at 4 x 5.25" is run through the BigShot with the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder.  Such an elegant embossing folder....

The centerpiece is cut using the Apothecary Accents Framelits.  The Whisper White is stamped with the Bloomin' Marvelous stamp set leaf.  I stamped the blossom from the same set on a separate piece of Whisper White and then cut them out.  The sentiment is from Petite Pairs stamp set - a great, all purpose set!  I place the flowers - some flat and some popped up with Dimensionals.

The "dangling" sentiment is also from Petite Pairs stamp set, stamped on Whisper White and then punched out with the Large Tag punch.

Coordinating cardstock was used to back the Apothecary Accents die cut and the Large Tag Punch.  I cut a rectangle out of Pink Pirouette 1/8" larger and then punched a 1" circle out of matching cardstock.  I cut the circle in half and backed the round ends.  The retired Extra Large Tag Punch perfectly matches the Large Tag punch, but if you don't have that one, you can use your paper cutter to make the matching mat.

The bottom Tag punch is accented with the Bitty Butterfly punch and Basic Rhinestones.

I've also made this into a Sympathy Card and a Thinking of You card...just change out the sentiment!

I hope you've enjoyed this week and all the Birthday cards....  Leave some feedback and let me know!

Many Blessings....Cathy

Happy Birthday - Day 4

The week is almost through.... hang in there!

Today's card is elegant...and we all have those friends that fit that bill.

This card uses the Triple Time Stamp technique.  Looks really complex and hard to accomplish but it is soooooo simple!

Two cardstock colors are used.    I used Basic Black and this becomes the shadow for the Whisper White.  Here are the measurements:

Basic Black
5.5" x 8.5", scored at 4.25"
4.5" x 3.25"
3.5 x 2.25"

Whisper White:
5.25" x 4"
4.25" x 3"
3.25" x 2"

Next you layer the two largest Whisper White pieces together and apply a small amount of removable adhesive to keep them in place.  Then you stamp the image randomly.  My example uses the Blooming with Kindness stamp set and Real Red ink.  The sentiment is stamped on the smallest Whisper White piece.  To get the two-toned color affect, I colored the sentiment with Real Red and the Basic Black markers.  After coloring, you "huff" to rehydrate the image and stamp away!

The flower is punched from Real Red with the Punch Pack.  The center is a Basic Rhinestone.

Every time I see this card, I just have to say, "WOW!!!"

Hope you enjoyed this birthday card...stay tuned to tomorrow's card....my favorite!

Many Blessings....Cathy

Happy Birthday - Day 3

Whew!  Half way through the week...

Today's card is so simple!  It's also so cute!!!

The best part of it all is that it was so simple to create!

I started off with a Whisper White card base of 8.5 x 5.5" folded in half.  I then put a pop of color with the Raspberry Ripple cut at 5.25" x 4".  Another layer of Whisper White cut at 3.75" x 5".  The banners are cut from the Designer Series Paper (DSP) Polka Dot Paper.  I'm not very good at creating the same size, shape or even the depth of the cut time after time.  But Stampin' Up knew that and created Framelits for me!!!  I used the Bitty Banners Framelits and cut one from each color of DSP.

There is a matching stamp set!!!  It's Itty Bitty Banners.  It has a variety of sayings - Happy Birthday, Congratulations, Sweet Baby, Love You, Thank You, and For You.

The sentiment is stamped, the Framelit lined up and run through the BigShot....easy!  I then popped up the sentiment using Dimentionsals.

Many Blessings....Cathy

Happy Birthday - Day 2

Welcome back!  Hopefully you enjoyed yesterday's birthday card.

Today's card can be shared with just about anyone...young, old, male or female!

The card base is 8.5 x 5.5", folded in half.  The card has a single layer of Whisper White cut at 4" x 5.25".  The stamp set is called Circle Circus and Well Scripted.  I used a variety of ink colors:  Raspberry Ripple, Old Olive, Real Red, and Daffodil Delight.

Can you find the mistake?  The Old Olive circle on the right side shows where I pressed to hard on the stamp and the center was filled in with color....but who knows but me...and now you!

I tied a quick bow of 3/8" Old Olive Striped Organdy Ribbon.  Cute, simple and oh so fun to make!

Many Blessings....Cathy

Happy Birthday - Day 1

Last month was all about birthdays.  In February my family has 9 birthdays...the most of any month and the shortest month.  So when the girls and I got together, we made birthday cards.

The first card this week fits so many billets...masculine, military, American!

I started off with a card base of Crumb Cake measuring 8.5" x 5.5", scored on the 8.5" side at 4.25".  The center piece of Crumb Cake measures 4.5 x 3.25".  I then ran this piece through the BigShot utilizing the Stripes Embossing Folder.  I like the vertical flow of the lines...reminds me of the Flag!.

I then used the Stars die to cut the stars out of Night of Navy, Real Red and Whisper White. I then used a retired stamp set to stamp inside the Whisper White star.  The sentiment (Happy Birthday) is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and stamped inside the Real Red star.  I utilized dimensionals to give dimension to the card.  The "striped" Crumb Cake is then mounted on a layer of Real Red, cut 1/8" larger than the Crumb Cake.

I hope this card inspired you....a simple card for the many in your life...a person in the military that you know....or to send to a service member serving abroad.

Many Blessings....Cathy

I'm Back Again.....

Well, my computer finally died, but before that the Control Key was eternally compressed.  I tried everything.... I searched the web for fixes... I even had a computer techie try and fix it.  All to no avail.  I even thought about reloading Windows (wiping my computer clean) but was resistant to that.  Then the screen no longer worked.  I hated to purchase a new computer but was finally forced to.

The hard part of a new computer is loading everything back into it.  I've been working on it for a couple of weeks and am almost there.  Another struggle is to figure out he new operating system (Windows 8).  But I'm finally figuring things out.

With that done, I should be able to contribute to my blog again!!!! YEAH!!!!

So check back this week for new posts every day this week!

Many Blessings... Cathy
