Ornament Week - Day 5

Today is the final day of ornaments.  I made each of these ornaments to share with my Dad while visiting him.  We are celebrating Thanksgiving on Thursday, Christmas on Friday and New Years on Saturday....since we aren't able to get together for each of these holidays, we'll compress them into the few days we will have together.

So, today we will be celebrating Christmas.  Today's ornament has this as it's central theme.

Once again I used the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set and Real Red to stamp the ornaments.  For this one, I stamped 4 images and then cut them out with the Holiday Ornament Framelits - Stampin' Up! sure does know how to make our life easier....

Snow Flurry snowflakes are cut out of Whisper White and placed in the center of the ornament.  A banner, with "Merry Christmas" stamped in Real Red is bowed and attached with glue dots.  Stunning...

Ornaments Week - Day 3

Middle of the week - hopefully you didn't stay up too late watching the election results.

Today's ornament is the same shape as the ornament from yesterday but it is a totally different vibe.

This ornament uses the Daydream Medallions stamp set - the same largest and next to largest stamp are used on Real Red and Gumball green in VersaMark and then White Embossing Power is used to provide contrast.  The Floral Frames Framelits is used to cut the three images out.  The smallest image is embossed in white with the "Merry" from the Snowflake Soiree stamp set. To add a little more detail, I used the snowflake image from the Jolly Bingo Bits and stamped with VersaMark.

Each layer is popped with Dimensionals.  Once again, I set an eyelet (to ensure longevity) and strung it up with 1/8" white ribbon.

Elegant and fun....

Ornaments Week - Day 2

I had time this weekend to play - and what fun it was!!!

This stunning ornament is so simple.  I used the Daydream Medallions (free for those attending Stampin' Up! Convention 2012).  I used the two largest stamps and used Gumball Green.  I used Cherry Cobbler embossing powder and VersaMark for the red dots.  The Floral Frames Framelits Die (say that fast three times...) were used to but the image out.

The bird is made using Real Red and the Bird punch.  I punched a second wing and used it as the Cardinal crown.  The eye is the smallest Basic Rhinestone.  I popped the wing and then popped the bird up with Dimensionals.

A bow is made from 1/8" Taffeta Real Red Ribbon.  I punched a hole at the top and placed an eyelet and ribbon hanger.  This ornament could grace your tree for many years...or lend elegance to any package.

Hopefully, you are enjoying these ornaments as much as I enjoyed making them....

Many Blessings - Cathy

We Are Still Here....

Well - the good news (for us) is that Hurricane Isaac has moved west and we will not bear the brunt of the storm.  We expect to receive rain and wind with a storm surge of 3-6'.  We didn't go to work today...some folks get snow days....we get hurricane days.

So, I've had time to spend in my craft room today and it has been fabulous!

Have I mentioned that Stampin' Up! issued their Holiday Catalog on 1 August?  Probably not...but I LOVE it!  In years past, it was always called the Holiday Mini...but they changed the format this year and it's now 8.5 x 11" and it is anything but "mini."  It's HUGE - it's PACKED - it's GREAT!  They have so many new ideas and new sets and accessories and...you get the idea.... I've ordered many of the goodies and have been working on several projects.  Did I say I LOVE it!!!

Of course, with the new holiday mini, my craft time has been consumed with holiday projects.

Here are a few samples...

I used the Two Tag Die for both of these examples - such a great tool for all your Christmas gifts.

And then I used the Tried and True - Come to Bethlehem for a classic tag...

And a new set, For the Birds....along with the Apothecary Accents Framelits....

I had such a great time today....hope you enjoyed the samples.  Of course, if you need any assistance with ordering any of these stamp sets or supplies, please contact me or you can enter your own order  here

Until tomorrow..... Cathy

Quick Post.....

This post will be short, quick and simple.  We live in the Florida Panhandle and we have been busy the last couple of days preparing for Hurricane Isaac.  According to the National Hurricane Center, landfall should occur Wednesday morning about 3:00 am.

While we live on the beautiful Emerald Coast.....and we love the beach....

However, hurricanes are no fun...

So today's post will be a simple bookmark.  It's ADORABLE!!! and oh so easy to make.

Supplies used include:
Stamp Set: Evergreen #127970-wood, #127973-clear
Ink: Midnight Muse #126860, Starfruit #126991
Accessories:  Two Tag Die #115954, Bit of gold ribbon

Depending on when Isaac hits, posts can be a bit sporty after Tuesday...but I'll be back so keep looking.

I Love Punch Art!!!

Because I love Punch Art, I had to join the Punch Art swap at the Stampin' Up! Convention.  I joined the swap and said I would accomplish the Bunny.  Then I had second thoughts and decided I wanted to change from the Bunny to an Elf.  Well.....as most things go, the organizer thought I wanted to joing another group.  The requirement was to complete 51 each 6 x 6 cards with a finished sample, individual parts and instructions on how to complete.  At this point I'm feeling a little overwhelmed - I mean 102 each punch art 6 x 6?  So I just started to "punch" that elephant and finished them all.  I think they turned out pretty cute.

The Bunny was done in a variety of color: Pretty in Pink, Raspberry Ripple, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turqoise, and Gumball Green.  When I use the Bunny, I add a Scalloped Oval in the middle and put my message, i.e. Happy Easter!  Turns out really cute....

The Elf was done with Pink Pirouette, Gumball Green, Whisper White, Basic Black and Silver Glimmer. The Elf makes a great addition to anything Christmas - card, tag, etc.

The swap was great and I came home with 100 different ideas! It was a lot of work but well worth it.

If anything is unclear or you just want to learn more, please contact me!

Day 2...and Learning

Well - two days and two posts - I'm on a roll.  I thought I would share with you the swaps I created and shared at the Stampin' Up! Convention 2012.  This was my first year to attend and I wasn't sure if I should participate in organized swaps or just do the general swaps.  Being the organized person that I am, I opted for the organized swaps.

The first swap I entered was the Christmas in July swap.  My card featured the Jolly Bingo Bits stamp set in Real Red and Gumball Green. The images were punched out with the 1" circle and popped up with Dimensionals on a 1 1/4" circle of Real Red or Gumball Green.  I also used the Scallops Square Duo in Whisper White and layered this on a square of Real Red.  The sentiment is from the More Merry Messages stamp set.  I topped it off by adding Dazzling Diamonds to the Jolly Bingo Bits images.  I did a grand total of 80 of these card fronts to share.

The second swap I entered was the Black and White Swap.  My card front featured an image from Delicate Doillies which was then cut out with the 1 3/4" circle punch.  The stamped image was then popped up with Dimensionals on a 2 3/8" scallop circle and embellished with a Basic Rhinestone and white gel dots using the uni-ball Signal white gel pen (the best I have ever used). Basic black and Whisper White were layed with the large Whisper White paper embossed with the Stripes folder.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and punched with the Word Window Punch and layered on the banner from the Petal Cone Die.  I used the Happy Anniversary but you could use this for a Birthday, Congrats, Wedding or just Thinking of You. I did 30 of these to swap.

The third swap was the Punch Art Swap!  I'll share these with you tomorrow.
