Yahoo.... Valentine's is just a few days away.
This card is a bright, clean and classic card. Very masculine. I cut a 4 1/4" x 11 base out of Real Red cardstock. I folded it in half. The Whisper White is 4" x 5 1/4". I cut a 3" x 4" Basic Gray and punched the top and bottom with the Scallop Trim Border. I then cut a 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" Real Red square and ran it through the Big Shot using the Fashionable Heart Embosslits. The Silver Glimmer paper hearts are punched with the Small Heart Punch. The sentiment is just the bottom portion of a retired stamp set from last years Spring Mini. To just get a part of an image on a stamp, take a Marker and color just the portion you want. Then huff on the stamp before stamping. Works great! I flagged the ends just because...
Isn't it cute!!! And it's so simple....
Many Blessings....Cathy

Thankful Thursday
It's been quite a while since I last posted on Thankful Thursday. Today I am Thankful for my Mother's Friends. Even though my Mom passed away almost 9 years ago, we girls have kept in touch with Mom's friends. And they have been faithful to us also...they share memories of Mom and always let us know that Mom loved us....these friends are PRICELESS!!!
Today's card is for one of Mom's friends who is in the hospital after surgery...
This card is a CASE from Lyssa Griffin Zwolanek here. For this CASE, I took the sample and then applied the supplies that I actually have. I used the Scallop Trim Border instead of the Lace Tape from the Spring Catalog. I also swapped out the sentiment and used Whimsical Words as it better suited the need for the card. The rest is the same....
I used Bloomin' Marvelous from this year's Sale-A-Bration catalog....FREE with a $50 order! Score!!! I love free stuff! I also used the new ribbon, 3/8" Striped Organdy Ribbon from the Spring Catalog! LOVE IT....
I pray that Mom's friend receives all the love I put into making this card and all the love I'm sending.
Many Blessings....Cathy

I'm Back....
I've had some time to replace several projects that I had been working on before my Windows went corrupt. It seems like forever since I last posted....
Since tomorrow is Halloween, I made little treats for my co-workers.
I started with the Mini Purse die and used Pumpkin Pie. To create the "basket" instead of the purse, you score 1" along the curved tab and then cut the "bottom" of the purse. After cutting the "bottom", I then used the Scallop Trim Border Punch to edge the flaps.
The sides are decorated with "gingham." I made the gingham by using Pumpkin Pie and the Stripes Embossing Folder. I inked the folder and ran it through the BigShot. I then turned it 90 degrees, re-inked the folder and ran it again. Voila - Gingham!
The handle of the purse was folded in half and nestled inside the basket. I then took orange tulle and cut a 6" x 12" piece, then folded it in half. I filled the tulle with M&Ms, gathered it together and used a pipe cleaner as the stem.
The sentiment is from the Holiday Catalog set Monster Munchies stamped with Black StaZon and then punched out with the Scallop Oval Punch.
I hope the co-workers like them... I sure had fun making them!
